The cost of a Machu Picchu trekking holiday is more than the trek’s advertised price. Start with the route, dates and included journey, then add the travel and personal costs you arrange yourself. A four-day trail quote and an eight-day holiday are not directly comparable until you check what each covers.
LHO’s published Inca Trail and Salkantay versions are both eight-day journeys. They include three camping nights, three hotel nights in Cusco and one hotel night in Aguas Calientes. Their routes differ, so confirm the version attached to the departure before comparing the price.
A dated LHO price example
Checked on 28 September 2026, the LHO departure listed for 15–22 May 2027 is labelled Machu Picchu – Inca Trail, with a standard price of £2,725 and a displayed Early Bird price of £2,507. These are a dated example in GBP, not a guaranteed offer for every date or route. Read the current Machu Picchu trip dates and prices before making plans.
The presence of a Salkantay itinerary description does not establish a Salkantay departure on your dates. We have not used the Inca Trail price as a Salkantay quote. Ask the team about the route, departure status and permit position you need.

Use the actual inclusion and exclusion lists together. “Included” does not mean every drink, upgrade, additional night or independently chosen excursion is covered.

Using the dated £2,507 example only establishes line A. It does not establish an all-in trip total. Your home airport, insurance, equipment and preferences can materially change the final amount.
