Plan Your Next LHO Adventure From Inside Claude or ChatGPT

What this is

The LHO connector brings our trip catalogue, availability, and consultation flow into the AI assistants you already use to plan your travel. Ask Claude.ai or ChatGPT a question like “What does LHO have in Patagonia in November?” or “Tell me what to expect on the Kilimanjaro expedition” and you get answers drawn directly from our published catalogue, not paraphrased from somewhere on the open web.

When you are ready to talk to a human, you can ask the assistant to send a consultation request to our team. We will reach out personally to continue the conversation.

Add the connector to Claude.ai

You need a Claude.ai account on a plan that supports custom connectors (currently Pro, Team, or Enterprise). The steps below take about a minute.

1. Sign in at claude.ai.

2. Open Settings, then Connectors.

3. Click Add custom connector.

4. Paste this MCP server URL: https://connector.lifehappensoutdoors.com/mcp

5. Name it Life Happens Outdoors and confirm.

6. Approve the permissions Claude shows you when you first ask it a question about LHO.

From then on, simply mention LHO in any conversation. Claude will use the connector automatically when it is the right tool for the question.

Add the connector to ChatGPT

You need a ChatGPT account on a plan that supports custom apps and the developer mode for MCP based connectors (currently Plus, Business, or Enterprise).

1. Sign in at chatgpt.com.

2. Open Settings, then Apps and Connectors.

3. Click Add app, then Custom.

4. Paste this MCP server URL: https://connector.lifehappensoutdoors.com/mcp

5. Name it Life Happens Outdoors and confirm.

6. In any new chat, enable the LHO app from the tool picker, then ask your question.

If your workspace administrator restricts custom apps, ask them to approve the connector for your team first.

What the connector can do

The connector exposes four tools. You do not need to call them by name; Claude and ChatGPT pick the right one based on your question.

  • search finds trips that match what you are looking for. Region, season, difficulty, length, theme. Useful for open ended planning conversations.
  • fetch returns the full content of a specific trip page: itinerary, what is included, what is not, fitness expectations, premium markers like airport to airport service and LHO Team Leaders.
  • check_availability returns broad availability for a trip across a date window. Useful for narrowing down departure dates before you talk to our team.
  • request_consultation sends a consultation request to our LHO team. You confirm the details first; nothing is sent without you saying yes inside the assistant.

Safety and consultations

LHO expeditions are demanding adventures. Altitude, remoteness, weather, and group dynamics are real factors on every trip we run. The connector and the assistant can help you start the conversation, but they cannot replace it.

Whenever you ask the assistant to send a consultation request, the connector returns this disclaimer to the assistant, which it will show you before completing the submission:

“Life Happens Outdoors expeditions involve real physical demand and real exposure to altitude, weather, and remote terrain. Anything an AI assistant tells you about fitness, medical readiness, gear, or insurance is a starting point only. Your trip is confirmed only after our team has spoken with you directly and cleared you under our standard process. Submit this consultation request to begin that conversation.”

You acknowledge the disclaimer inside the assistant before the request is sent. Final clearance for any LHO trip is given by our team.

Privacy and data

When you search or fetch trip information, no personal data is sent to LHO. When you submit a consultation request, the connector receives the details you confirmed inside the assistant (your name, email, optional travel dates, group size, and the inquiry notes you shared with the assistant), creates a record in our Pipedrive workspace, and notifies our team at [email protected].

The connector keeps operational logs for 30 days. These logs do not contain the body of your conversation; they record request IDs, timestamps, and outcomes for reliability and security monitoring.

The full data handling section is in our privacy policy at https://lifehappensoutdoors.com/privacy-policy/.
