Supply your article
Approved supplied article — £450
Your team supplies the original draft, supporting evidence and images with permission to use them. LHO reviews and edits the article, then publishes it once approved.
Start with an outline. We confirm topic fit before you develop the full article. Payment is due after acceptance and before publication.
LHO-written feature — £850
LHO develops an agreed brief, carries out desk research and writes the feature using the materials and expertise you provide. Your team reviews factual details within the agreed revision round.
Payment is 50% on commissioning and 50% before publication. New field testing, travel and photography require a separately agreed scope.
What both article formats include
- Normally 800–1,500 words, with editing and factual checks within the agreed scope.
- One consolidated revision round.
- 12 months of publication, normal blog/category listing and a featured blog card for 14 days.
- A performance summary after 30 days, covering article traffic and sponsor clicks where measured.
All fees exclude VAT where applicable. Publication is on the LHO blog only. Every placement requires an agreed brief and written booking. Additional revision rounds are £75 for up to one hour; corrections of LHO’s own errors are free.

Content partnerships for PR and marketing agencies
If you are finding publishers for a client campaign, LHO offers a defined article placement with an accessible starting price and direct editorial contact. Send the client name and a short idea first; we can assess fit before your team commits to producing the full draft.
Outdoor PR agencies
Turn a client’s useful product knowledge, care advice or design expertise into a practical feature for hikers and trekkers.
Content and media agencies
Consider LHO for a relevant sponsored-content brief. The £450 supplied-article format suits teams that already produce client content.
Emerging outdoor brands
Introduce your expertise through a focused article that answers a real equipment or preparation question. New brands and their agency partners are welcome.

Contributor guidelines and editorial approval
Every sponsored article must offer original, accurate information that helps our outdoor audience. LHO retains final control of the headline, wording, images, links and placement. Our Editorial Standards explain how we handle evidence, editing, specialist review and corrections.
- Provide a named author, relevant experience, sources for factual claims and permissions for supplied images and quotations.
- Describe first-hand experience and product testing accurately. Material AI assistance must be disclosed to our editor.
- Paid articles display “Advertisement feature — paid for by [Brand]” above the headline, with advertising also identified on listing cards. Advertiser links are marked as sponsored.
- Payment does not purchase a favourable review, product ranking or control of LHO’s safety guidance. Specialist review is agreed according to the subject.
We do not accept direct competing tour promotions, gambling, cryptocurrency or investment promotions, adult content, tobacco or vaping, CBD, medical or supplement advertising, illegal products, unsafe guidance or misleading environmental claims. We publish a limited number of paid articles, subject to topic fit and availability.
From article idea to publication
- Send a short pitch. Include the named brand, website, proposed topic, intended reader, preferred format, links, campaign objective and timing.
- Agree the brief. LHO confirms editorial fit, scope, price, dates and the written booking, including rights and cancellation terms.
- Prepare and review. Supply the article or source material, author details, evidence and image permissions. LHO edits the content and coordinates one consolidated revision round.
- Publish and report. Following approval and payment, we publish the article and provide the performance summary after 30 days.
For supplied articles, payment follows acceptance and precedes publication. For LHO-written features, 50% is payable on commissioning and 50% before publication.
Sponsored content and guest post FAQs
Does LHO accept sponsored guest posts?
Yes. Life Happens Outdoors considers original outdoor and adventure travel guest posts through its paid supplied-article format. Publication costs £450 excluding VAT where applicable and is subject to editorial approval. The article must help our readers and identify the advertiser.
Can an agency submit an article for a client?
Yes. PR agencies, content agencies and media buyers can supply an article on behalf of a named client. Send the brand website, outline and proposed links first. Your team can coordinate the brief, materials and consolidated feedback with LHO.
How long does publication take?
Publication is normally within ten working days after we have complete materials, editorial approval and payment. We confirm the date in writing. Specialist checks or substantial changes can take longer; availability depends on our editorial calendar.
Are advertiser links included?
We normally allow up to two relevant advertiser links, marked as sponsored. Independent citations are selected by our editor. We do not sell dofollow links or paid insertions into existing editorial articles, and we do not guarantee search rankings or AI citations.
How long will a sponsored article stay online?
The standard publishing term is 12 months, subject to the booking terms and legal or safety duties. Continued hosting afterwards is at LHO’s discretion. Permanent publication is not part of the offer.
Are newsletter and social media posts included?
Both article formats cover the LHO blog only. Newsletter, social media, guidebook and trip-booking-page placements are outside this offer. Field testing, new photography, video, travel, translation and extensive specialist review are also outside the standard fees.
Can supplied content use AI assistance?
Tell our editor about material AI assistance and provide a named person responsible for the article. Every claim, source and image must be checked. We reject fabricated experience, invented evidence, plagiarism and generic bulk submissions.
