What Makes an Experience With Life Happens Outdoors Different?
“With us, your journey starts when you ask about a trip or sign up through the website.”
Getting outdoors can kind of feel like going to the gym for the first time. Everyone seems to know exactly what they’re doing. That is, everyone with the obvious exception of you. So, you look around a little. Pretend like you’re considering which elaborate workout you’re going to pull out of your library of functional circuits before relegating yourself to a 20 minute jog on the treadmill and a super long chat with the protein shake barista. Between gear lists, itineraries, and blogs that tell you only super humans can take a walk on a fairly well trodden trail, there is a great deal of intimidation that can keep you away from getting started. But not with LIFE HAPPENS OUTDOORS and here is how we do things differently:
TEAM LEADERS ARE WITH YOU EVERY STEP OF THE WAY
With us, your journey starts when you ask about a trip or sign up through the website. From that point onwards your LHO team leader, the same person who’ll be picking you up from the airport, share your meals and guide you on the experience, is responsible for ensuring that you are both confident and comfortable in the lead up to you adventure and is totally at your disposal to answer any questions or concerns you may have. By the time you get to the start of your adventure you’ll be old friends. By the end of it, well, come to one of our LHO reunions and you’ll get the idea.
FITNESS AND NUTRITION PLANS
We provide you with tailored plans designed around the experience that you’ll be joining us on. The plans can be modified and tweaked to suit your particular circumstance and you’ll have access to our resident dietician Ghida to help you make the most out of it. If you’re concerned about how to get started or how to incorporate our recommendations into your own routine, we’re available on the phone, in person or over our team group chat to help you out.
GUIDING BEYOND THIS EXPERIENCE
Your LHO team leader isn’t just concerned about this one experience you’re on. In addition to helping you shop, giving you tips, providing you with your fitness and nutrition plans and being the same person to physically be there on the adventure to see you through it, we’ll continue to support you and guide you towards your next step even if that step is beyond the community.
“We’ll continue to support you and guide you towards your next step even if that step is beyond the community. That’s why 80% of our community members take their first steps with us and why 50% of them come back for a second adventure in the same year!”
That’s why 80% of our community members take their first steps with us and why 50% of them come back for a second adventure in the same year!
EVERYTHING MEANS EVERYTHING
Our experiences are all inclusive. It may not seem so different until you find yourself trying to keep up with which meals are included, why you’re being asked to pay for water, how that city tour you’re on during a rest day happens to come at a premium and why you should be on a receiving end of a group vote to take a helicopter to Lukla because the fixed wing aircraft you were originally booked on decided it’s not flying. From the moment we pick you up until the moment we drop you off back at the airport, we cover everything. We are responsible for everything. We will take care of everything. Every meal, every tour, every unforeseen circumstance. We also throw in a whole load of extras like a welcome and farewell reception, a la carte dinning when possible, nutrition/training programs put together by professionals and high quality photography and videography of the experience. And if there is anything we don’t cover, like a discretionary tip to the porter staff or champagne you decided to pop open at the guest house, we’ll be very transparent about it from the get go so that you know exactly what to expect.
OUR TEAM LEADERS HAVE A LITTLE MORE EXPERIENCE THAN YOUR AVERAGE GROUP
Whether you’re climbing in the Alps with Greg, who scaled his first 4000 meter technical ascent when he was 8 and then went on to become an IFMGA mountain guide with 40 years of experience, or Kilimanjaro with Steve, the head of the syndicate of Kilimanjaro mountain guides, ice climbing in Georgia with Guga who pioneered the sport in that country, or with me, the founder of LHO and someone whose been in the mountains since the age of 2, you are outdoors with people who have a wealth of experience in what they’re doing and who are fully dedicated not just to your wellbeing but to your education and enjoyment in any adventure you choose to join us on.
