Itinerary

DAY 1: TOUCH AND GO IN TBILISI

Our first day together is dedicated to airport transfers. Since our team members will be arriving at different times, we’ll gather everyone at Tbilisi airport before proceeding to the Kazbegi region in a private shuttle. If you arrive early, you have the option to explore the town by taking a cab. Your LHO Team Leader will provide recommendations on cafes, restaurants, and heritage sites to visit closer to the time. Our scheduled shuttle time is 5 pm, so please arrange your flights to arrive beforehand. Once we’ve assembled the group, we’ll load up the shuttle and head to the Kazbegi region. The drive takes approximately 2 and a half hours to Gudauri. Upon arrival, your LHO Team Leader will check you into your rooms and inform you about dinner time. Our welcome dinner will be the first chance for everyone to meet. We’ll go over the details of our upcoming itinerary and address any questions you may have. The first round of drinks is on us!

DAY 2: HITTING THE SLOPES

Given our amazing location, we’ll be jumping right to it with skiing or snowboarding. After breakfast, we’ll jump on the bus and head to the Gudauri ski resort. Once there, we’ll rent our gear, grab ski passes, and hit the slopes in one of Georgia’s exclusive ski resorts. For first-time skiers, instructors can be arranged at an additional cost. Your LHO Team Leader will set a meeting point and time for lunch. Apres-ski is definitely an option in Guadauri! We’ll be having dinner all together at our hotel and talk about the amazing day we just had.

DAY 3: HITTING THE SLOPES PT. 2

Our second day of skiing will allow beginners to get more practice and our experts to explore more ground. Ski instructors can be arranged for this day as well. Your LHO Team Leader will set a meeting point and time for lunch. We’ll all gather for dinner back at the hotel.

DAY 4: HITTING THE SLOPES ONE LAST TIME

Our Last day of skiing will be the day everyone puts their practice and experience to the test. For those of you who are keen on learning more, maybe trying out snowboarding isn’t such a bad idea! A ski instructor can be arranged for this day as well. Your LHO Team Leader will set a meeting point and time for lunch. In the afternoon we will be moving to our Stepantsminda hotel for dinner and a 2-night stay.

DAY 5: ICE CLIMBING, AND EXPLORING ANCIENT CHURCHES

Distance: 8.1 KM | Ascent: 483 M | Descent: 483 M | Max Altitude: 2,170 M

After breakfast, we’ll hop on our private transfer for our ice climbing and trekking activities. A quick stop for rental gear, including harnesses, ice axes, crampons, and sturdy mountaineering boots. No worries if it all sounds like jargon—we’ll walk you through it on-site. Once our gear is sorted, we’ll head down the road toward the Russian border, eventually joining a smaller road climbing along Mount Kazbek’s side. We’ll drive as far as we can until the road becomes too muddy. Upon disembarking, we’ll trek through the snow into a deep gorge, surrounded by towering cliffs. At the end of the trail, we’ll find the frozen Gveleti waterfall, our ice climbing playground for the day. Setting up a shelter and snacking station with hot chocolate and coffee, our local guides will create top ropes for the climb, ensuring safety and support. After a quick demo, it’s time to climb! We’ll set up two or three ropes for variety, offering different climbing options. Packed lunches at the campsite, maybe by a small fire.

After ice climbing and depending on the time and energy of the team, we’ll be aiming for a winter trek to the Gergeti Trinity Church. We will hit the road again to our trailhead on the foot of Mount Kazbek. Following the trail’s ascent through the forest, your LHO Team Leader will help you find a comfortable pace. The trail opens into a clearing leading to Gergeti Trinity Church, offering breathtaking views. Enjoy packed lunches, explore the church, and soak in the destination. Begin the descent toward the town center, where the bus awaits to take us back to the hotel. If the weather doesn’t permit we will have the option to drive up to Gergeti Trinity Church for a visit before heading back to our hotel in Stepantsminda. The final dinner together is always a bit bittersweet, but hey, the last round of drinks is on us!

DAY 6: UNTIL NEXT TIME!

Breakfast is included on our last morning together. The rest of the day will be dedicated to shuttle team members to the airport. It’s best to try to book flights from midday onwards to avoid driving along the mountain roads at night. We aim to depart the hotel as a team at 6 am. Those with late transfers will have the chance to explore Tbilisi. You can keep your bags in our private shuttle, which will be available for you when you get dropped off at the airport. Please ensure you provide the correct departure details when filling out your pre-adventure form prior to the adventure. If your itinerary changes, please inform your Team Leader as early as possible to make the necessary arrangements.

I just got back from my trip with LHO (Georgia). Rami and Ghida are amazing organizers and even better people. Everything was thought of, from the complexities of transporting 2 big snowboard bags to the dietary restrictions of some of the members that joined. There will be no shortage on laughter with LHO. The positive energy of everyone on the group makes it so hard to say goodbye, which is why i'm saying, SEE YOU SOON! PS: make sure you ask Rami about his opinion of the Gillette ad :)
