What the AMM qualification means
An Accompagnateur en Moyenne Montagne is a state qualified mountain walking professional.
The qualification covers leading people through mountain environments on paths and terrain that do not require mountaineering equipment or techniques. Training includes group leadership, mountain safety, navigation, weather, the natural environment and working with different types of participants.
The qualification is awarded following formal training and assessment through the French mountain sports system.
