Itinerary

DAY 1: WELCOME TO EPIC CHAMONIX

The first day of our itinerary is the arrival day. If you’re arriving at Geneva airport, our transfer partners will meet you and take you to our hotel in the Chamonix valley. If you’re meeting us directly at the hotel, your LHO Team Leader will be waiting for you there. Check-in at our accommodation usually begins at 3 pm. If you arrive early, you can store your bags at the hotel and explore the area. Your LHO Team Leader will send you a list of things to do in Chamonix closer to the time. For those of us requiring rental gear, we highly recommend arriving early because the gear stores close at 7 pm, and we generally try to get an early start the following day before shops open. A team dinner and briefing will take place at 7:30 pm, hosted by your Team Leader and lead rock climbing guide. This will be your first opportunity to meet everyone we’ll be spending the week with, ask questions, and learn about our exciting week ahead. Gear checks will be coordinated by your LHO Team Leader throughout the day based on your arrival times to make sure you have everything you need for our week ahead.

DAY 2: LES GAILLANDS – SETTING OBJECTIVES AND BELAY TRAINING

After breakfast, we’ll head to Les Gaillands, a popular crag nestled just outside Chamonix. This beautiful spot, surrounded by forests and with a stunning view of Mont Blanc, is the perfect introduction to the week.

Today, we’ll focus on establishing personal climbing goals and getting comfortable with essential safety skills, such as belaying. Our guides will teach you to belay in pairs, a skill that will allow everyone to climb more often under the guide’s supervision throughout the week. This approach not only maximizes climbing time but also builds trust and camaraderie among the group.

After a scenic picnic lunch, we’ll continue working on our goals for the day, gradually building confidence on the rock. We’ll wrap up in the late afternoon and return to Chamonix for a team dinner and a briefing on tomorrow’s plans, sharing our experiences and setting the tone for the week ahead.

DAY 3: LES AIGUIETTES DE CHAMONIX – SCENIC CLIMBING IN A RUGGED SETTING

Once we’ve enjoyed breakfast, we’ll set off for Les Aiguiettes de Chamonix. Accessing this rugged crag involves a hike from Col des Montets, winding through alpine trails with views of the surrounding peaks.

Les Aiguiettes offers a variety of routes that challenge both technique and endurance, perfectly suited to the goals we set yesterday. As we climb, we’ll take in the stunning vistas that stretch across the Chamonix valley, a reminder of the natural beauty that makes this place so special.

We’ll pause for a picnic lunch in a scenic spot before continuing our climbs in the afternoon, giving each person time to tackle routes aligned with their objectives. After a fulfilling day, we’ll gather for dinner and a debrief back in Chamonix, sharing highlights and excitement for tomorrow’s adventure at Brevant.

DAY 4: BREVANT – ICONIC MULTI-PITCH OR SINGLE-PITCH CLIMBING

After breakfast, we’ll take the cable car up to Brevant, one of Chamonix’s most iconic climbing areas. With panoramic views of Mont Blanc and the valley below, Brevant offers an inspiring alpine setting that is both exhilarating and humbling.

Today’s focus will be on multi-pitch climbing, though climbers who prefer shorter pitches can head to the Brevant crag near the cable station. The multi-pitch routes here offer exposure and altitude that heighten the experience, with each pitch bringing you closer to the top and rewarding you with unforgettable views.

We’ll return to Chamonix in the late afternoon for a team dinner, where we’ll share stories of our climbs, reflect on the day, and discuss our goals for the remainder of the week.

DAY 5: LES PERRONS ABOVE EMOSSON LAKE – FINAL CHALLENGE AND OBJECTIVE ASSESSMENT

Following breakfast, we’ll set out on a scenic drive from Chamonix to Emosson Dam, where we’ll access the remote and striking Les Perrons crag above Emosson Lake. This beautiful high-altitude spot, with its clear blue waters and alpine surroundings, sets the stage for our final day of climbing.

Today is dedicated to meeting the objectives we set on Day 2. Whether your goal is to climb a specific grade, try leading, tackle a multi-pitch, or simply enjoy climbing, our guides will work closely with each of you to make these aspirations as achievable as possible. Emosson’s variety of routes and unique alpine exposure provide the perfect backdrop to put everything we’ve learned into practice.

In the evening, we’ll return to Chamonix for a celebratory dinner, where we can look back on our progress, share memorable moments, and toast to a week of adventure in the Chamonix valley.

DAY 6: AU REVOIR!

Our final day together will be dedicated to airport transfers and farewells. Breakfast is included on the day. Please make sure that you provide us with your correct departure details when filling out your team details form as we use it to book your transfers to Geneva airport with our transfer partners. If there are any changes to your travel itinerary, please let your LHO Team Leader know as early as possible so that arrangements can be made.
