Itinerary

DAY 1: WELCOME TO WILD KATHMANDU

Kathmandu is an incredible, vibrant, and wild city that we’ve fallen in love with. That’s why we’re always so excited to welcome you on the first day and share the gateway to the Himalayas with you.

On arrival day, you’ll be met by an LHO representative at the airport and driven to our centrally located hotel by private transfer. Navigating Kathmandu airport can be an adventure in and of itself, so you’ll receive a text with detailed instructions on how to efficiently make your way to us.

Your LHO Team Leader will be waiting to greet you at our hotel, check you in, and ensure you have everything you need for our adventure. If you arrive early, there are plenty of incredible places to visit around us. Your LHO Team Leader will send you a detailed list of restaurants, coffee shops, heritage sites, and markets to visit closer to your trip start date so you can make the most of your time.

Our first official event of the trip is a team dinner at 7:30 pm, hosted by your LHO Team Leader and local lead guide. This will be your first opportunity to meet everyone, ask any questions you have, hear all about the amazing week ahead of us, and enjoy a great meal. The first round of drinks is on us! Although it’s tempting not to be tempted by the nearby nightlife, we recommend an early rest to recover from your travels. We’ll have plenty of time throughout the week to enjoy the nightlife as well.

DAY 2: INTO THE WILD AND OUT OF THE BLUE

Our first day together starts early as we try to leave Kathmandu before the famous traffic grips the streets during morning rush hour. For those of us feeling motivated, there will be a morning Yoga session led by our Guru before breakfast. You’ll receive a Yoga mat from us that you’ll get to keep for the journey and take home with you at the end.

After breakfast, we’ll board our private bus and head onto the Kathmandu-Pokhara highway. The road is an adventure unto itself, but thankfully we won’t be on it for too long because we’ll be covering a big chunk of the day’s distance on a raft! The bus will drop us off at the Trishuli river, where we’ll be met by our local team of experts. We’ll be briefed on the safety measures taken during rafting, learn about the different bits of equipment we’ll be using, and then board our rafts for an epic ride!

The ride down the river combines wild rapids with calm waters, giving us an opportunity to feel the rush but also relax and enjoy it. The rafting session ends at a local riverbank settlement where we’ll be able to change our clothes and have lunch before being met by our transportation and taken to the incredible town of Bandipur, a heritage town on the hilltops. Our accommodation in Bandipur is a cultural gem that makes the entire experience extra special. There will be a yoga/meditation session led by our guru in the evening followed by dinner. Sleeping after a day like today comes easy.

DAY 3: THE FOOTHILLS OF ANNAPURNA

Distance: 4 KM | Ascend: 412 M | Descend: 55 M | Max Altitude: 2,012 M

After our early morning Yoga session on the hotel rooftop, we’ll have breakfast, check out, and jump onto our private bus. We’ll be heading to the foothills of the Annapurna region for two incredible days of trekking. The drive to the Annapurna region takes about three hours.

We’ll be shuttled to the town of Kimchi, the starting point of our trek. We’ll have a quick bite to eat at a local teahouse before taking our first steps on the trail into the Annapurna Sanctuary. The trail immediately begins with a series of stairs that’ll surely warm us up for the days ahead. The early portion of the trail is an opportunity for us to learn how to pace ourselves and find a sustainable rhythm that will carry us all the way to Ghandruk. The town itself is a hub of heritage in the region with beautiful local architecture and tiny market streets. As this is our first night in a teahouse, we’ll do a quick briefing about how everything works, and then we’ll get everyone checked into their rooms. Depending on what time we arrive, we may have the opportunity for a quick yoga/meditation session before dinner at the teahouse.

DAY 4: TREKKING TO THE JINHU HOT SPRINGS

Distance: 6.1 KM | Ascend: 410 M | Descend: 675 M | Max Altitude: 2,012 M

From the moment the sun comes up, we’ll be able to see the incredible Annapurna mountain range, including the holy fishtail mountain. This is one of the most beautiful panoramas in Nepal and will serve as the backdrop to our morning yoga session. After breakfast, we’ll check out of our teahouse and follow the trail through the center of the town and down towards the Annapurna river.

It’s very common to spot monkeys along this trail as we go deeper and deeper into the dense forests. The trail itself is moderate, and having trekking poles to hand is extremely useful to protect the knees. We’ll stop for lunch at a teahouse at the junction with Landruk before continuing along the flat trail towards New Bridge. Crossing New Bridge is always super exciting because it is the second-longest suspension bridge in Nepal. On the other side of the bridge is the colorful town of Jinhudanda, the gateway to the hot springs. After checking into our teahouse, we’ll have the opportunity to head down to the riverside where the hot springs are located for an afternoon of relaxation and enjoyment. Once we’ve had our fix, we’ll head back to the teahouse for dinner and rest.

DAY 5: I'M NEVER LEAVING POKHARA

Distance: 1 KM | Ascend: 100 M | Descend: 163 M | Max Altitude: 1,564 M

We’ll begin our last morning in the mountains with a full session of Yoga and meditation before having breakfast and checking out of the teahouse. Our walk today takes about 45 minutes only. We’ll descend back across New Bridge and follow the flat trail to the dirt road. From there, we’ll jump on our 4×4 transportation until we reach Nayapul, where our private bus will be waiting.

The ride down in the 4×4 is an experience. Thankfully, we have massages waiting for us in Pokhara! After a short bus ride to the town, we’ll check into our hotel and head out for lunch. During lunch, your Team Leader will let you know about the rest of our activities for the day. The afternoon is spent at our pre-booked massage spa followed by a leisurely boat ride on Lake Phewa. It’s possible to trek to the World Peace Pagoda about the lake for those of us feeling motivated. Otherwise, the afternoon is free to roam around the town and check out the market streets. Your LHO Team Leader will let you know where and when our team dinner will take place.

DAY 6: TURNING IT UP A NOTCH

Our second day in Pokhara starts with a Yoga session followed by breakfast. At 10:00 AM, we’ll be picked up by our paragliding team and taken to the take-off area in Sarangkot where we’ll receive a full safety briefing. Paragliding is very dependent on the wind conditions. This may mean that our session could be delayed until the afternoon, or we may need to wait a little bit before taking off. In some rare instances, it may not be possible to fly at all. Safety comes first at all times, and we’ll keep you updated with whatever changes we feel will maintain our margin for safety and better the itinerary as a whole for everyone’s enjoyment. Once we do take off, the flight time can vary from 20 minutes to an hour also depending on the wind conditions. The views are incredible with the Annapurna range in the background and Lake Phewa ahead of us. The landing zone is near the lake and only a short distance from Pokhara town center where we’ll have lunch together. Once we’ve digested, we’ll jump back onto our transport for another adrenaline-packed activity. This time we’ll be zip-lining across one of the longest zip-lines in the world! Upon arrival, we’ll once again go through a safety briefing before jumping into our harnesses for an epic Himalayan experience. Once done, we’ll return to Pokhara for a free afternoon to roam around and enjoy our last sunset on Lake Phewa. Your LHO Team Leader will let you know where and when your last dinner in Pokhara will be.

DAY 7: THE GRAND FINALE

Yes, the trail is now behind us, but the adventure isn’t over yet! After breakfast, we’ll check out of our hotel and make our way back to Pokhara airport to catch our flight to Kathmandu. Lunch may be in Pokhara, at the airport, or in Kathmandu, depending entirely on when the plane takes off because of anticipated delays with internal flights. The good news is that we don’t have to wait at the airport if we are made aware of the flight delay before check-in. Once back in Kathmandu, we’ll make our way to the hotel and check-in. The afternoon is free time to roam the market streets, buy souvenirs, and rest. For those of us who’d like to do some local sightseeing, Your LHO Team Leader will be available to take you. You can also reach out for other recommendations like bars, shops, and cafes. Our last official event is a bittersweet team dinner at the hotel to close an epic chapter that we’ve shared together. The last round of drinks is on us!

DAY 8: NAMASTE

The last day is dedicated to airport transfers. Breakfast at the hotel is included. Please be sure to include the correct departure information when filling out your team details form prior to the trip start date. If any information has changed or may be incorrect, please inform your Team Leader as soon as possible for arrangements to be made.

This doesn't define me, but I am a pretty anxious person, been diagnosed with extreme stress disorder with severe panic attacks, that led me experiencing agoraphobia. For 6 years I've been battling this every single day, with struggles, pain, sleepless nights, heartache, you name it, took a bad turn on my health. It is with no surprise that this trip is far FAR from being my comfort zone, not sleeping in the same place everynight, changing locations twice per day, being far away from home, being in the middle of the forest, in a country that i've never been before, where I don't know the language nor most of the people I'm going with. Long story short, it was nothing like I'd anticipated. Your slogan/hashtag couldn't be more true for my case, #comebackdifferent. I had been preparing for this trip for a year, mentally and physically. Weekly therapy sessions, tried every technique in the books, literally everything. This was nothing for me because i mean I've been doing that my whole life, but the closer we got to the date, the more "what ifs" intrusive and automatic thoughts popped up like CRAZY. What if I can't go, what if I get a panic attack every single day, what if I can't make it to the plane, what if I get so annoyed, what if I won't be able to leave the hotel, what if everyone will be annoyed of me, what if they would judge me hate me, and the list goes on... Imagine having this running in your head every single day, haunting you, putting you down, in ugly moods, horrible situations, and bad physical conditions. I may be over exaggerating, but that's how it actually felt. Turns out I needed a new strategy, a sentence that I've been going by for quite some time, "Feel the fear and do it anyway." I needed to feel it, welcome it, and not run away, nor get scared, just sit with it, and count on myself that I will make it, not with the help of anyone nor any pill. It is hell, it is extremely painful and very very very hard. But I did, I sat with it, sometimes longer than I expected. This is not a cliché paragraph where I'm gonna motivate you into sitting with your intrusive thoughts and tell you everything is going to be okay, it won't be okay, but that's okay. Because it will be sooner or later, it doesn't last forever. My travels before involve sleepless nights, no eating nor drinking water, extreme heart palpitations, shaking and sometimes trips to the ER. My case has been well communicated with the team leaders, with my friend coming with, most of the people knew what I have and were very supportive, understanding and promised to be there for me no matter what. I'm glad to say that they didn't see any of this, even though they were prepared and ready for the WORST (as what I've described). This trip is a pleasant get away for some people, waw nature, waw local people, finally travelling to change environment, however for me it was presumed to be a nightmare, a hell I must endure for 8 days that hopefully will pass by quickly. Brought sufficient amount of calming drugs to get me through these 8 days, thinking I would need at least 3 per day. Happy to say only half a pill was used before even stepping foot in the airport. This trip was more than just an escape to nature, it was my freedom, my peace, I never felt more present and alive in my life for as long as I can remember, I enjoyed every single minute of it, every plant, every drop of rain, every meal, every encounter, every conversation, every place. Nepal is a beautiful country, filled with pure, kind, genuine and spiritual people, most of them don't have anything to offer but oh my do they give everything they have for you. The team leaders of the trip, the porters, the well selected restaurants, hotels, tea houses, cities, villages, and everything basically, were just perfect. I have no words to describe this experience, yes I may be over exaggerating, but this truly changed my life and how I see trips/travels. Usually my trips go something like okay I went I made it alright 3 more days to go, and then I'll be back home, this time, I enjoyed every single day, didn't even know what day we are or how many we have left. Usually I come back from a trip I need to recover from all the suffering and not think of another trip unless I HAVE TO. This time, I was already looking for another adventure with LHO while I was still there ahaha. I didn't want to leave Nepal, didn't want to leave these beautiful people. I seriously can't wait for the next one. Loved the release of the need to control or know everything. Loved the freedom. So thank you, you gave me back a taste of freedom, and I promised myself to cherish it and not lose sight of it again. LFG!!!!!!! see you soon, hope to meet the entire team! You guys are beautiful souls thank you for creating this genuine community, you wawed us. Didn't have to worry about anything, and even if I did worry about something, the team on ground already took care of it before I even voiced out my worry ahaha. I probably have more to say about this, but for now this is it, this was not just an ordinary trip for me, it was way way way more than that. Thank you once again
