The optional Lobuche East high-altitude helicopter return costs £1,700 per helicopter, including all taxes, for up to two passengers. Pickup is planned from Lobuche for the flight to Lukla, subject to the confirmed descent plan, weather, visibility, landing conditions, aircraft availability and safety decisions. It is separate from the included Kathmandu–Lukla aviation sector. The maximum baggage allowance is a 12 kg duffel plus a daypack under 4 kg per passenger; excess baggage requires advance arrangement. The shortened itinerary is planned to remove about three to four days, but the end date is not guaranteed. The booking basket shows this as a separate £1,700 add-on before payment. The add-on is refunded in full only if no helicopter return operates at any altitude. A lower pickup, including Namche, counts as operated and no refund is due. Aircraft type is not guaranteed, and a seasonal aircraft change may be required in Pheriche. A replacement policy from Commercial or the supplier requires reapproval.
