Climbing Mont Blanc is more than just a goal—it’s a calling. And when you finally decide to answer it, one of the first things you’ll need to figure out is: Do I go all inclusive or guide only?

At first glance, it might seem like a simple price difference. But look a little deeper and you’ll see it’s about so much more than that. Let’s break it down with no jargon and no fine print surprises—just clear, honest insight to help you choose the right path for your adventure.

What “All Inclusive” Really Means

Let’s be honest, all inclusive gets thrown around a lot these days. But at Life Happens Outdoors, when we say all inclusive, we mean it. Airport to airport, start to finish, everything covered.

Here’s what that actually looks like when you sign up for a Mont Blanc climb with us:

  • Airport transfers both ways. No figuring out buses or taxis after a long flight.
  • Full board throughout—all your meals, snacks and mountain fuel.
  • All transportation, including mountain lift passes, highway tolls and tunnel fees.
  • Mountain hut accommodation and all shared expedition equipment already sorted.
  • Guide fees, accommodation, meals and logistics all covered from the outset.
  • At least two days of expedition photography, so you don’t just live the experience—you take it home with you.
  • Alternative summit options built in, in case Mont Blanc isn’t climbable due to weather or mountain conditions (which, frankly, happens more often than you might think).

You focus on the climb. We take care of everything else.

And when conditions are right and you’re standing at the top of Mont Blanc, you’ll be glad you didn’t spend your energy chasing receipts or making last minute bookings.

Guide Only The Stripped Back Option With Extra Costs Waiting in the Wings

The guide only option is exactly what it says on the tin—you hire a guide, and that’s pretty much it.

Sometimes this might include mountain hut bookings, but not always—and you’ll need to double check what’s actually included.

Everything else is on you.

  • You’ll need to organise and pay for your own accommodation in Chamonix, both before and after the climb.
  • You’ll also be expected to cover your guide’s meals, especially in the huts.
  • If you leave the Chamonix valley to climb elsewhere due to weather, not only will you likely face extra transport and logistics costs—you’ll also be expected to cover your guide’s accommodation for any nights not spent in mountain huts.
  • Some guides have their own seasonal lift passes, but if not, you’ll be picking up that tab too.
  • And if you have to change your objective, a different climb may come with a higher guide fee, depending on the route and location.

Yes, Mont Blanc climbing on a guide only basis might seem more budget friendly at first. But those unexpected extras have a way of sneaking in. What started as a minimal setup can quickly turn into a puzzle of added costs.

So What Kind of Experience Do You Want

If you love sorting logistics, hunting down deals and keeping a spreadsheet of your mountain expenses, guide only might work for you.

But if you’d rather channel all your energy into climbing Mont Blanc, not calculating—then an all inclusive experience is the way to go. You’ll know your total cost from day one, and you’ll be free to focus on what really matters: the mountain, the journey and the transformation you came for.

Because let’s face it—when you set your sights on a Mont Blanc summit, you want every step of the journey to feel intentional, not stressful.

One Last Word

The weather can change quickly in the Alps. One day the sky is clear, and the next it’s a whiteout. That’s part of the reality of Mont Blanc climbing, and it’s why we build flexibility into every all inclusive experience we offer.

At Life Happens Outdoors, you’re not just getting a package—you’re getting a safety net. A plan B, C or even D if that’s what it takes. And all of it is handled without additional stress on you.

You didn’t come here just for a climb—you came for the feeling that only standing on the top of Mont Blanc can bring. And we’re here to make sure that every part of your journey—before, during and after—feels as epic as that final step onto the summit.

Let us take care of the details—so you can focus on what you really came here to do.
