Kilimanjaro is located in Tanzania, East Africa, near the border with Kenya. The nearest major airport is Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), situated approximately 46 kilometers (28 miles) from the town of Moshi and about 67 kilometers (42 miles) from the town of Arusha.

Getting to Kilimanjaro

  1. By Air: The most common way to reach Kilimanjaro is by flying into Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Many international airlines operate flights to JRO from various cities around the world. From the airport, travelers can arrange transportation to nearby towns such as Moshi or Arusha, which serve as the main hubs for Kilimanjaro treks.
