LEARN MOREHow should I train for this experience?
Training to get the most out of this week of mountaineering is all about cardio and strength. The focus of the cardio should be to become comfortable with a high heart rate. The best way to do that is to get into sports that force your heart rate up. If you take up something like spinning, you'd familiarize yourself with the feeling of heavy and fast heartbeats so that, even though you won't be experiencing it as acutely or for as sustained a period as during a spinning session, your body would

The best way to do that is to get into sports that force your heart rate up. If you take up something like spinning, you'd familiarize yourself with the feeling of heavy and fast heartbeats so that, even though you won't be experiencing it as acutely or for as sustained a period as during a spinning session, your body would feel comfortable and ready to cope when it occurs on the trail. Cardio training recommendations include running, swimming, spinning, cycling, rollerblading, or really anything that you can think of that is fun and sustainable for you where you live. Pilates or Yoga are great for training muscles to adapt to stress positions. Both of them enable your body to work as a whole unit with a focus on engaging the core.
I'm a first-timer with no clue what to even ask for.
That's why we're here! Almost all our community members put on crampons for the first time with us in the Alps. Just tell us how many days you've got, what adventure experience you have if any and leave the rest to us.

I have summit objectives that include Weisshorn, Noire de Peutry, and other hard climbs. Will it be possible to organize climbs at this level?
Absolutely. Our week is designed around you. Conditions will dictate what we can do but all objectives are on the table as long as your skills progress to the level that makes them possible. If we don't know you from previous experiences, we may ask you for more information about your experience and current fitness/skills level in order to make sure that your objectives are reasonable to achieve within the timeframe we have together. That can easily be done over a quick Zoom call.
