Empowering Humanity To Answer The Call To Adventure
We believe that every single one of us is born an explorer and every single one of us can find a transformative experience in the outdoors. That’s why, no matter who you are, no matter where you come from, and no matter what you believe your limitations to be, we’ve made it our mission to help you find yours.
The LHO Story
It’s a story that we all have. It starts with a crash, one that debilitates, with the power to knock us down and keep us there. It’s a story of what we did in that moment, the choices we made, and the courage we had to say, “This isn’t good enough.” That is exactly where our story began.
For LHO founder Rami Rasamny, that moment came when he found himself on the brink of an early-age health crisis, brought on by two packs of cigarettes a day, crates of beer every weekend, and a lifestyle of abject victimhood. Mountains changed that. For LHO co-founder Ghida, that brink came when she found herself in a wheelchair after a crazy New Year’s Eve bash. Three surgical screws, a long recovery, and suddenly being dependent on others for even basic tasks like showering became her daily reality.
Every single member of our LHO team can tell a similar story. That’s why LHO is so personal to all of us and why Life Happens Outdoors is much more than just an adventure travel community—it’s an ideal we believe in. Every adventure we’ve curated, every summit we’ve supported, and every life-changing accomplishment we’ve shared with our LHO Community has only reinforced our resolve to continue our mission. And our mission is clear: We empower humanity to answer the call to adventure. #comebackdifferent

RAMI RASAMNY
Founder & Chief of LHO
Rami is the founder of LHO and believes everyone can be transformed and empowered by outdoor experiences. After his own transformation from a chain-smoking, binge-drinking, overweight law student to a respected mountaineer, athlete, and entrepreneur behind the fast-growing LHO community, he made it his mission to show what’s possible when people say yes to adventure. As LHO’s first Team Leader, Rami pioneered a unique approach to adventure, making it accessible to all, creating a supportive environment, and ensuring every participant feels what it’s like to achieve the impossible and come back different.

GHIDA ARNAOUT

It wasn’t until a clubbing accident landed Ghida in a wheelchair for 6 months that she decided to ditch the trappings of Urban life and head to the great outdoors. With the all clear from her doctors, she took a trip to Nepal and fell in love with everything about the Himalayas. Since then, she’s become an inspiring amateur rock climber, a nature enthusiast and an LHO Team Leader. Ghida believes strongly in the healing power of outdoors experiences and uses her role as a Team Leader to encourage everyone to give it a try.

ELIE ABI AKAR
Chief of Base Camp
Elie is our Base Camp Chief and he’ll be with you every step of the way to make sure you’re all set to go on an adventure of a lifetime. During his Advertising career, Elie was questioned many times by his colleagues as to why he was listening to the sound of ocean waves while working and staring at a faraway beach. But when they listened, it all made sense. There’s nothing more important than quality time in the outdoors away from life’s daily routine, so why not let him take you there?

Ever wondered what happens when you mix a consultant and an MBA candidate with a yoga mat and a dash of wanderlust? You get Leen! Our resident yoga guru and adventure alchemist, Leen has a knack for turning boardrooms into mountain tops and spreadsheets into sun salutations. In 2023, while her colleagues were crunching numbers, Leen was crunching trail mix on her way up Kilimanjaro, leading a corporate trip that sparked her passion for creating community through movement and the great outdoors. Now, she’s traded her business casual for yoga pants (though sometimes she wears both – hey, it’s called balance!).
